Press Release
PUBLIC MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR PA ROUTE 23 ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDY
HARRISBURG (August 22, 2002) – The Environmental Impact Study
for Route 23 in Lancaster County will be the focus of two open house
public meetings – one on August 27th at the Calvary Church in
Manheim Township and the other on August 28th at Garden Spot High School
in New Holland. These meetings are being held by PENNDOT and the Federal
Highway Administration in partnership with Lancaster County. PENNDOT
encourages you to attend either meeting so the Project Team can gather
as much public input and feedback as possible to assist in the development
of the best possible transportation solution for the Route 23 Corridor.
In an open house meeting, the public can attend anytime at their convenience
between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to view the displays and talk with representatives
of the study team. Public involvement is very important, and PENNDOT
is offering the same meeting on two different days and at two different
locations to make it easier for people to attend. The first meeting
is on Tuesday, August 27th at Calvary Church. The second meeting will
be held on Wednesday, August 28th at Garden Spot High School. For more
details on these meetings or on the PA Route 23 Environmental Impact
Study, visit the study’s website at www.paroute23.com.
